Disengaging from Negative Energy

We’re constantly bombarded with negative energy from people and places around us. If we’re not careful, we can take that energy in and make it our own. Additionally, the negative energy can hook itself into a vulnerable spot in your psyche – say, that spot in your heart that feels unlovable – and by pushing your buttons, suck you into a negative downward spiral.

The more we work on ourselves and heal our psychic wounds, the less likely we are to be affected by surrounding negative energy. Until we’re strong and healed, we need to be very aware and careful of the energies surrounding us.

Negative Places

People and places carry their own energies that can adversely affect us. A place can hold the energies of fights, depression, and even murders and suicides. (This is why people often sage a home when they move in. Burning sage clears away the bad residual energy.)

A negative place holds the combined psychic energy of the people who inhabit it. The leadership who runs the place (if there is a leader) will often set the tone, creating a space that is either warm and nurturing or energetically draining.

For example, churches and other places of worship will often be filled with positive energy due to the prayers and intention of the audience. (Some churches, however, may have bad energy if the leadership is insincere. Yet if the congregation is sincere enough, their combined positive energy can overcome even the worst leaders.)

Yoga centers often have positive energy, especially if chanting is used. Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood has a palpable positive energy due to the persistent and continual chanting and Kundalini Yoga practices.

Negative spaces also have a palpable energy. Haunted locations, prisons, and soulless organizations can have bad energy. Sometimes these energies are very dark in nature. There is a vortex on the haunted ship the Queen Mary that is so negative, just standing near it can make you feel fearful and anxious.

Many healers will also cite bars and nightclubs as harbors for negative energy. The drinking and drug use will sometimes attract lower energies. So it’s a good idea to shield yourself when entering such environments.

Psychic Attacks

Negative people can be even more dangerous if we let them in too close without protecting ourselves energetically. A psychic attack is when a person sends negative energy to another person.

We are all guilty of psychic attacks at times. If you are swearing and wishing harm on the driver who just cut you off, you are guilty of a psychic attack. These aren’t too potent, however. It’s the persistent, ongoing attacks that are the problem.

For example, energy vampires are people who literally tap into our energy systems and suck vital life force away from us. Manipulators consciously and quite often unconsciously tap into our past wounds to gain power and favors. Others just go on the attack by sending the negative energies of jealousy and ill will.

Unfortunately, it’s often the ones we love the most that have the potential to bring us down the most. Family is an obvious culprit, but friends and lovers are often sources of negativity and we don’t even realize it. We’re often aware and even blaming when it comes to family, but we do the opposite with friends and lovers: We excuse, ignore, and gloss over.

I had a friend who was an energy vampire. She was an active alcoholic (a big red flag) and would literally call me up three times per day crying her eyes out over some perceived drama in her life. I begged her to see a shrink or go to AA, and she would promise to go and then come up with an excuse.

Tied into this friend was another friend who would go from being my best buddy to stabbing me in the back at random opportunities. She would find some petty thing to get mad at me about, ignore me, and then go bad-mouth me to the first friend, never talking to me privately or giving me the opportunity to clear things up with her.

These are obvious examples, but the less obvious examples are the friends who are nice to you to your face but inside they are harboring resentments and ill will. Women in particular have to be aware of this, since women are still raised to unconsciously see each other as competitors (for male attention).

Men have to be aware that women will often hook into them for security and validation. This is not to say women are the sole perpetrators of psychic attacks, but when men attack women, it is more likely to be overt and physical.

Co-workers are also sources of psychic attacks. When going to a job, you are often mixed up with people you might not otherwise have anything in common with. Greed, jealousy, and pride will often create a lethal work environment.

Signs of Psychic Attack

While everyone is different and responds differently to energy, here are a few signs you are under psychic attack:

1. You feel drained and irritable around the person.

2. You have a hard time letting go (of them, of their problems) even though you know you should.

3. You find yourself over-reacting emotionally in ways that you wouldn’t otherwise. You feel out of control.

4. You are obsessing and negative.

5. Things in your life are going haywire and the usual flow has stopped, i.e., money is hard to come by. (This is with an extreme psychic attack.)

6. You continue to engage (fight, respond, defend yourself) even though you know you shouldn’t.

7. You get physically sick when you spend a lot of time with the person. (I had a boyfriend who constantly gave me colds.)

8. You doubt yourself and your own intuition based on the twisted logic presented by the person; you blame yourself in a one-sided fashion. (This is all my fault: I’m bad, I’m unlovable, I’m the horrible person.)

Dealing With a Negative Person

Not every negative person is actively attacking you personally. Sometimes, they are just negative, period. There’s a guy I know who is universally hated by everyone who deals with him. He is condescending, arrogant, and patronizing. Yet because he’s taken the reins at this particular organization and gets stuff done, he feels he is the one in the right.

This man is not actively intending to be negative, but his own personal baggage, control issues, and negative energies adversely affect most of the people he interacts with. The organization also suffers, and many people have left, in part due to his negativity. The energy has spread to the space itself, and when you walk in, you can literally feel a dark, heavy energy blanketing the location.

Unfortunately, even though such a negative person is not personally attacking you, you still need to protect yourself from them.

How to Shield Yourself

Many, many techniques are available to shield yourself from negative energies. The most important aspect of these techniques is the intention behind them. Here are a few simple ones to try:

1. Remove yourself from the person or environment.

Ideally, you will remove yourself entirely from the person or environment. I consulted for a company once that bounced so many checks that the bank shut down their account. They were actively perpetrating check fraud. They bounced my checks too. There is no good reason to keep an organization like that in your life. Even if you think you need them, you don’t need them. Quit, leave, and get the hell out of dodge. (This goes for certain people too.)

2. Use the white light technique or cross your arms.

If you must be around a person or place that is negative, the simplest thing you can do is imagine yourself surrounded with white light. Do this often! When speaking to someone who has bad energy, cross your arms. It helps to keep their energy from infiltrating yours. (This is very useful at work.)

3. Go to a higher power.

If you believe in such things, God, Jesus, angels, or whatever higher power you trust can be good allies. Pray to God for protection. Ask Archangel Michael to remove negative energies from your personal space.

4. Clear the energies in your home.

Your home environment can be contaminated by negative energy, whether it’s from neighbors, friends visiting, and sometimes whoever is living with you. Burn sage, meditate, or chant to clear the energy. (Om is a universal clearing mantra.) Clear out your old clutter and throw it away – often it carries old negative energy with it.

5. Cut cords.

Etheric cords are energetic highways that run between you and other people you have connected with. When used positively, they allow for the exchange of love energy and psychic information. When used negatively, they are used to drain energy and keep a person attached long after it has been good for them. Cords re-appear daily, so you should clear them as much as possible. If you don’t know a cord clearing technique of your own, simply ask Archangel Michael to cut them for you at the end of each day.

6. Mentally disengage.

When a person is pushing your buttons and you find yourself getting emotionally overwrought, take a few deep breaths and mentally disengage. Repeat to yourself some sort of statement that feels comforting to you, such as I am letting go or I love myself.

7. Stop trying to fix the other person.

If you find yourself constantly trying to help someone who is going through a lot of personal dramas, and yet they continue to be messed up at best, it’s probably time to stop. Only help people who ask you for your help and who appear to be actively trying to improve their lives. Give the others over to God.

8. Trust your own intuition.

One of the biggest problems we have is that we often ignore our own intuition to make excuses for other people. It’s hard to believe that someone you love might be psychically attacking you. You want to make excuses for them. It’s easier to believe that you are the bad guy. And certainly, while we are not all perfect and we do sometimes do rotten things, if a person is making you crazy, it’s probably them and not you. Listen to that little voice in your head that says, Hey, this is not right. Pay attention to that sick feeling you have in your solar plexus. It’s telling you something. Trust it.

9. Heal yourself.

The more you heal your inner wounds, the less likely people will be able to push your buttons. But don’t kick yourself if a button is pushed – you’re human! The next time someone says something to you and you find yourself overreacting, make a note of it. Later, when you’ve calmed down, you know you’ve found a little sore spot that needs some healing. A little Reiki or EFT can go a long way.

10. Laugh about it.

My friend and I have a name for people who psychically attack now. We call them lizard people (in reference to the controversial David Icke theory that the world is run by evil shape-shifting reptiles). Laughter is a good way to disengage and realize that what seemed threatening really isn’t that threatening after all. (Psychic attacks are the most effective when you buy into them on some level.)

These are just a few suggestions to help you when dealing with negative environments and people. As you become more aware, you will find yourself able to respond more pro-actively instead of automatically. As time goes on, you will find yourself naturally being drawn to more positive environments and letting go of the ones that bring you down. Then your life can continue along a positive upward spiral.

Thousands of Internet marketers are taking advantage of article writing as a free way to drive traffic to their websites and to the merchant websites they are affiliated with. Article writing is one of the best techniques to use to obtain free search listings within Google, Yahoo and other search engines.

This is how the process flows. You write an article about a topic or subject that you are either interested in or are interested in getting listed under, submit it to an article website (usually free), and then wait for it to get listed. By submitting the article to these sites you are adopting their search engine ranking, meaning that you can get listed on the first page of the results in a matter of days. This is something that could take months if you tried to optimize a website for search engines. Article marketing is 100% free and is something that anyone could (and should be doing)!

Free traffic = Free advertising = No overhead

So how does article marketing actually work?

Well, generally it takes months or even years to get a site naturally listed in the main search engines like Google, Yahoo, or MSN. This is generally because a new website is not very “Popular”. Popular means different things for Google, Yahoo, and MSN as they all have different search ranking algorithms, but they all have a similar ranking model.

If you write an article and submit it to a “Popular” website such as “ezinearticles.com”, your article will live on this domain and inherit the popularity of that entire site. This will give your article a head start by being listed in the top rank site, thus getting spidered frequently by the search engines.

Search Engine Optimization is something that marketers have been perfecting for years, but it can take a VERY long time to get your own website displayed at all under the keywords that you want. With article marketing, you leverage the power of these large sites (ezinearticles.com, squidoo.com, usfreeads.com, etc.) to get top natural listings for your articles in a fraction of the time.

We’re going tell you exactly how to find the right keywords to use in article marketing, how to obtain a top listing in the search engines under these keywords, and how you can create profitable article marketing campaigns.

Research Before You Start…

Before you write an article, you should determine whether or not there is potential to receive traffic, how much competition you are up against, and which keywords to optimize to get maximum results. There are several ways you can search for keyword niches.

Analyzing Competition With Google

In order to determine whether or not a keyword is competitive, you should go to Google and check out how many search results come up under any particular keyword. You do this by typing in your search using “…..” (quotes) as this will grab the results for the EXACT search phrase.

Here is an example search:

“wealthy affiliate training system”

At the time when we wrote this, there were 689 results retrieved from this search in Google. A good rule of thumb is to aim for keywords where the results are less than 5000. This will make it easier to get your keywords listed as you will have much less competition to deal with. A keyword like “make money” has over 39,000,000 results. What do you think your chances are of getting your “make money” optimized article listed under this search term? Not very good! So, focus on lower competition keywords.

The next thing you will want to do is take a look at the top ranked natural listings under the search term.   If the sites on the first page of natural listings have a lower page rank than the article site you are going to submit to, you have a very good chance of getting listed on the first page.  To determine page rank you can either download the Google Toolbar at:

Analyzing traffic with the WA Keyword Research Tool

If you want to perform some keyword research, you should take advantage of the Keyword Research tool that we offer right here at Wealthy Affiliate. You can access this tool from the icon at the top of your Wealthy Affiliate dashboard. The keyword tool grabs search results from Google and will outline the competition and the keyword traffic volume, as well as allowing you to dig down and find more targeted, less competitive keywords.

Some keywords like “make money” are way too broad to create an article around. This is because it’s an extremely popular keyword and thousands of sites are already listed under it. Instead, you should focus on writing articles for more relevant keywords that are not as competitive. For example, you will be able to achieve top rankings if you promote under the term “how to make money as an affiliate” as there are just over 800 results!

Without having to do a TON of research, you can find terms that are high volume but have limited competition if you look for keywords that pertain to brand new products.

For instance, when we have launched any of our products in the past (Who Loves Money, Beating Adwords, etc) it has been very easy for members here at WA to get their articles naturally listed pre- and post- launch because there was limited competition within the search engines. With a new product, you can literally get an article listed in a number of days under the product keywords.

This is VERY powerful information and can lead to a flurry of sales for a new product. This is explained in further detail on the next page.

Jumping on New Products

Writing articles about new affiliate programs or brand new product releases is a great way to get listed fast within search engines because the competition is limited.  

Commission Junction and LinkShare send out notifications of new merchants quite regularly and you can take full advantage of these by writing an article or two about the new products/services that are offered. Where else can you find information about new products or services?  Magazines, commercials, television, focus groups and news websites are all great places to find out about current trends, new products, and release dates.

Taking advantage of new products and services will allow you to get listed within the results before a lot of the competition catches up.

Alright, now that you know what kind of keywords are the most effective to use with article marketing, we’re going to tell you exactly how to write an article that will be “fine tuned” for the search engines. In the next section we are going to outline how to go about “Writing Your Article”.

Writing Your Article

Your articles should range anywhere from 300-500 words in length.  This is the ideal size to get listed within engines, and allows you enough text to promote or provide adequate information on the particular topic.  If you have an article that is longer than this you may want to break it down into smaller topics that make sense and submit them separately.

Insert a title, keywords, and description within the meta tags on the webpage.  You may also want to include a headline (or <h1> tag) with your keyword phrases you are trying to obtain positioning on.  The higher up on the page you have a relevant headline, the greater your chances of getting listed.

When it comes to actually writing the text, you need to use basic grammar.  Your article must also contain some sort of personality.  If you bore your audience, they will not read what you’ve written, limiting your success.  Ways to captivate your audience include telling a story, giving a testimonial, or reviewing a product or service.  You must also provide enough information to make them feel they have gained from reading your article.

Forget the fact that you are writing an article.  Pretend that you are writing an email, letter, or instructions to a friend.  Make it easy to read, give step-by-step instructions, and add a personal touch.  It is much easier to connect with a visitor on an emotional level if you show a personal side, rather than appearing as some automated webpage.

In terms of keyword density, or how many times your main keyword phrases should appear on any page, you should have between 3-7 occurrences (or between 3-5%).  Any more than this will appear as content “spam” to the search engines, and any less will not be enough to get listed under those search terms.  There are tools available that allow you to quickly analyze your pages and determine the keyword density:

Here’s a quick checklist of guidelines to use when writing an article:

 Use the keywords you want to be listed under in the title of your article 
 Use the keywords in a heading tag at the top of your page <h1>Keywords</h1> 
 Use the keywords in your opening paragraph 
 Use the keywords in your closing paragraph 
 Have between 300 and 500 words in your article 
 Try to use your main keyword phrases 3-7 times per article.

Submitting Your Articles

Now it is time to submit your articles.  We suggest that you only submit the same article to one place, or Google and other search engines will remove your listings because there will be exact replicates of the same content (not good).  We suggest that, if you want to submit the same article to several article directories, you should change the content around so that each article you submit is slightly different.

Getting someone to write articles for you

Since unique content is rewarded within search engines, it is important to write unique articles.  This can be very time consuming, and time is one of those things that an Internet marketer cannot get enough of.  For this reason, many article marketers outsource to people that do this for a living.

The great thing about this is that you will likely be able to get the work done for you right here at Wealthy Affiliate. The average article will run you about $5-$7, depending on who writes it for you. What you can do is post a job within the “WA Jobs” section and wait for the bids to roll in. You can also use other outsourcing agencies. These include:

Say you wanted 10 articles on Internet Marketing basics that are 500 words each. You would specify this in your ad and independent copywriters will bid on the job.  Often times this can be a very inexpensive way to get work done for you.

If you get someone to write articles for you, remember to specify which keywords you want them to focus on. You can always add the keywords in yourself, but if you specify this up front it will save you some time.

Note: We recommend that when you are starting out you should write all your articles yourself. This will not only give you good copywriting experience, it will save you money and allow you to learn some of the most important fundamentals of Internet marketing.

Profiting with Your Article

Now we are going to answer the big question – “How do I make money article marketing?”  Some of you may already have article marketing experience and will know the answer.  But for those who are new to the process we are going to suggest four different methods of generating value from an article:

Promote affiliate product directly

Sending your traffic directly to an affiliate URL is one of the most commonly used techniques associated with article marketing.  You simply write a review, testimonial, or story about a product and link to the affiliate URL within or at the bottom of the article.  How well your article converts to sales will depend on how captivating it is. Note that not all article engines will let you “direct link” to the merchant pages. In situations where a direct link is not allowed, you will need to create a webpage to send your traffic to.

Send them to your own product website

If you own your own product you will obviously want to create articles to drive additional traffic to your website.  You could write an unbiased review, an article full of useful information, or an article on a particular subject relevant to your product.  If you have a product that shows people how to make money on eBay, you may want to write an article outlining the steps that someone should take to become successful on eBay, or some tips on how to set up an eBay account.

Send them to a squeeze page

If you have a squeeze page, you may want to drive your article traffic to it. You can do this by writing articles that would attract visitors who would be interested in your mailing list, and then redirect them to your squeeze page.  Make sure your offer is worthwhile or people will not subscribe to your list.  Magazines, newsletters, reports, guides, and books are great giveaways.

Send them to a review site

In the same way as you promote an affiliate product, you can write articles about particular products that you are comparing on your website and then send the visitors to your review website.  By the time they get to your website they will be interested in one or several of the products and will be more likely to buy.  If you have five products on your review site, you could write an article about each of them.

Conclusion

Article marketing can take a lot of work, and in order to succeed at it you need to set goals.  Set aside enough time during the day to write 1-2 articles and by the end of the month you will potentially have 20-40 articles bringing you in traffic (and hopefully sales).  The advantages of article marketing are that you do not have to be a professional to write an article, and it is FREE!

If you are new to Internet marketing and have a limited budget, article marketing is one of the best ways to familiarize yourself with important marketing fundamentals such as research, copywriting, and building pages. It will allow you to generate income that you can use to fund your advertising campaigns (PPC or otherwise). We must point out that article marketing is not “guaranteed”, especially with all the changes that Google and other search engines make to their ranking algorithms. Don’t rely on just one article to bring you all your sales. Keep consistent with your article marketing and you will be much more likely to be successful with it.

Scientists warn US Congress of cancer risk for cell phone use

The potential link between mobile telephones and brain cancer could be similar to the link between lung cancer and smoking — something tobacco companies took 50 years to recognize, US scientists have warned. Scientists are currently split on the level of danger the biological effects of the magnetic field emitted by cellular telephones poses to humans.

The potential link between mobile telephones and brain cancer could be similar to the link between lung cancer and smoking — something tobacco companies took 50 years to recognize, according to US scientists’ warning.

Scientists are currently split on the level of danger the biological effects of the magnetic field emitted by cellular telephones poses to humans.

However, society “must not repeat the situation we had with the relationship between smoking and lung cancer where we … waited until every ‘i’ was dotted and ‘t’ was crossed before warnings were issued,” said David Carpenter, director of the Institute of Health and Environment at the University of Albany, in testimony before a subcommittee of the US House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform.

“Precaution is warranted even in the absence of absolutely final evidence concerning the magnitude of the risk” — especially for children, said Carpenter.

Ronald Herberman, director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute — one of the top US cancer research centers — said that most studies “claiming that there is no link between cell phones and brain tumors are outdated, had methodological concerns and did not include sufficient numbers of long-term cell phone users.”

Many studies denying a link defined regular cell phone use as “once a week,” he said.

“Recalling the 70 years that it took to remove lead from paint and gasoline and the 50 years that it took to convincingly establish the link between smoking and lung cancer, I argue that we must learn from our past to do a better job of interpreting evidence of potential risk,” said Herberman.

Carpenter and Herberman both told the committee the brain cancer risk from cell phone use is far greater for children than for adults.

Herberman held up a model for lawmakers showing how radiation from a cell phone penetrates far deeper into the brain of a five-year-old than that of an adult.

The committee were shown several European studies, particularly surveys from Scandinavia — where the cell phone was first developed — which show that the radiation emitted by cell phones have definite biological consequences.

For example, a 2008 study by Swedish cancer specialist Lennart Hardell found that frequent cell phone users are twice as likely to develop a benign tumor on the auditory nerves of the ear most used with the handset, compared to the other ear.

A separate study in Israel determined that heavy cell phone users had a 50 percent increased likelihood in developing a salivary gland tumor.

In addition, a paper published this month by the Royal Society in London found that adolescents who start using cell phones before the age of 20 were five times more likely to develop brain cancer at the age of 29 than those who didn’t use a cell phone.

“It’s only on the side of the head where you use the cell phone,” Carpenter said.

“Every child is using cell phones all of the time, and there are three billion cell phone users in the world,” said Herberman.

He added that, like the messages that warn of health risks on cigarette packs, cell phones “need a precautionary message.”

Carpenter described the situation as “a critical public health issue,” and called on the US government to support further research and for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), in charge of monitoring the use of the radio spectrum, “to review their standards.”

Also testifying was Julius Knapp, who heads the FCC office of engineering and technology — responsible for setting limits for human exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy from electronic devices like telephones that they approve, to prevent it from heating up live tissue.

“It is important to understand that we rely on guidance from US health, safety and environmental agencies in setting those limits,” Knapp said.

He added: “The FCC staff is not sufficiently qualified to speak with authority to the science of health effects of RF absorption in the body.”

At an air to fuel ratio of 14.7:1, these 3,900lbs of fuel would be burned with about
57,330lbs of air (which is made up of about 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen).

In the “typical” USA automobile this combustion would produce the following total
yearly exhaust emissions. Also shown is the anticipated reduction in these total
emissions resulting from the use of eeeFul fuel additive:

Since using eeFuel also improves fuel economy by about 15%, there should be a

to save approximately 90 gallons of gasoline per year while at the same time
reducing air pollution by just over 2,100lbs (or almost one ton).

Greenhouse gas emissions would also be reduced significantly. Using eeFuel
would reduce global CO2 emissions by about 1,900 lbs/year per vehicle. If
every vehicle in the USA used eeFuel, this would reduce global CO2 emissions
by about 120 million tons per year.

For environmental comparison purposes, a typical large mature urban street tree
absorbs about 48 lbs per year of CO2. However, from the above table, a single
vehicle using eeFuel would reduce CO2 emissions by about 1,916 lbs per year.
Therefore, every single vehicle that started using eeFuel would begin reducing
carbon emissions equivalent to planting 40 large mature trees.

Even more remarkable, there would be no net cost associated with these
reductions, since eeFuel should pay for itself in fuel economy improvements.
